Blast in Afghan mosque during Friday prayer leaves four dead, many injured

Four people, including imam of a mosque, were killed when a bomb went off at a mosque during Friday prayer in Kabul. The incident occurred at Sher Shah Suri Masjid in western part of the Afghanistan capital. It is being said many people were injured in the blast.

It is believed that the target of the terror attack was the imam who was in favour of peace negotiation. That is reason the bomb was planted near the imam.

No terrorist organisation has so far claimed responsibility for this attack. But since ISIS had professed to carry on terror attack on mosques earlier this month, its hand in the current attack cannot be ruled out.

It is observed that after the US peace initiative, such terror attacks against those in favour of the peace talks have escalated in the country.
