16 visually impaired persons test Covid+ in Bhubaneswar hostel

Bhubaneswar: The municipal corporation here has found that at least 16 persons with visual impairment tested positive for Coronavirus. All of them were staying in the Odisha Association for the Blind building.

Most of them were asymptomatic and some had mild symptoms. There is no special Covid care centre for the disabled, especially those suffering from visual impairment.

Those who are found positive are put in isolation on one floor of the building and those found negative are put up in another room.

Some of the affected persons alleged that medical attention had not been arranged by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation. Also, no sanitisation drive of the building had been undertaken
so far. The visually challenged persons need special care and attention of the Government, one of the office staff of the association pointed out.
