Bhubaneswar: The dream project of Kendrapara district in Odisha's Haridaspur-Paradip railway line is expected to be completed within the next 15 days as assured by BJP National Vice President and former MP, Kendrapara, Baijayant Panda.

This railway project is already completed and the final inspection is going on before commissioning of the project.

The Haridaspur-Paradip project is not only a dream project for the district of Kendrapara but also satisfying for Baijaynt Panda as he has worked hard and it connects three districts of Odisha i.e Kendrapara, Jajpur & Jagatsinghpur.

The project will now bring Kendrapara on railway map. So far, nearly 31 bridges and 174 minor bridges have been constructed over rivers, canals & water bodies for the project. The aim of the project is to facilitate movement of freight, export of finished products of steel plants and coal from Paradip to industries.

Major industries and mining belt from Jajpur and Keonjhar districts will benefit by the railway line. The rail distance between Daitari-Banspani iron ore belt and Paradip port will be reduced to half.

The project was approved in 1996. For 13 years after that, the project did not materialise till the time Panda took it up and pursued the matter till New Delhi.

Now the 82-km project with an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore is almost ready to help out the people of Odisha.
