The Delhi Police Crime Branch on Friday, July 19, registered a case against probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar for allegedly falsifying documents and cheating the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC).

Puja Khedkar News: The Delhi Police Crime Branch on Friday, July 19, registered a case against probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar for allegedly falsifying documents and cheating the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC).

Delhi Police officials said they have registered a case under sections of forgery, cheating, IT Act and Disability Act.

According to officials privy to the matter, the UPSC has registered a police complaint alleging that she made more attempts than the permissible limit under the exam rules by altering her identity by changing her name, her father’s and mother’s name, her photograph/signature, her email ID, mobile number and address.

Additionally, the UPSC said in a statement on Friday that it has issued a show cause notice (SCN) to Puja Khedkar to cancel her candidature from the Civil Services Examination-2022 and debar her from future examinations.

The commission said, “The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has conducted a detailed and in-depth inquiry into the misconduct of Ms. Pooja Manorama Dilip Khedkar, a provisionally recommended candidate of the Civil Services Examination-2022.” The statement said, “UPSC has initiated several actions against her including criminal prosecution by lodging a First Information Report (FIR) with the police authorities and issued a show cause notice to cancel her candidature of the Civil Services Examination-2022 and debar her from future examinations, selections as per the rules of the Civil Services Examination-2022.”

The General Administrative Department (GDA) of the Maharashtra government, led by Additional Chief Secretary Nitin Gadre, on Thursday, July 18, submitted its report on several allegations against Khedkar to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) of the central government. The report was received by a one-member central committee led by Assistant Secretary Manoj Dwivedi, which is investigating the matter.
