Delhi traffic alert: Before the Muharram Tazia processions on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Delhi Traffic Police released a piece of advice. Many city bus lines will be rerouted, and people heading to the Delhi Railway station, particularly in the evening, are advised to plan and allow for delays. Meanwhile, a “generally cloudy sky with light rain and thunderstorm” is what the India Meteorological Department has forecast for the coming days.

On Tuesday night, at approximately nine o’clock at night, the first procession will leave Chhatta Shahzad, Kalan Mahal. It will go via Kamra Bangash, Chitli Qabar, Churi Walan, Matia Mahal, Jama Masjid, Chawri Bazar, and Hauz Qazi, according to the alert.

Old Police Chowki, Ashok Basti, Qutub Road, Khari Baoli, Lal Kuan, Hauz Kazi, Chawri Bazar, and Jama Masjid will all be the starting points of another procession, which will return along the opposite path.

The tazias from Mehrauli, Okhla, and Nizamuddin would come straight to Karbala. Additionally, there will be processions in the districts of Shahdara, East, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, South, and West.

The Delhi Traffic Police continued, “The procession will reform at 11:00 am on July 17 and take the same route and assemble at Kalan Mahal to proceed for Karbala and Jor Bagh.”

City buses operating on Desh Bandhu Gupta Road with destinations including Ajmeri Gate would halt at Aram Bagh and make their way back via Chitragupta Road-Paharganj.

At Aram Bagh, buses headed for the New Delhi train station are to be halted.

Buses going to Central Secretariat and Connaught Place would travel via Mandir Marg, Park Street, Rani Jhansi Road, and Udhyan Marg before returning via Kali Bari Marg.

Buses that travel down Sikandra Road to Connaught Place and the Central Secretariat from the East and Central districts arrive at Mandi House. On the way back, these buses will travel along Bhagwan Dass Road-Tilak Marg.

Prithviraj Road, Q-Point, Man Singh Road, and Maulana Azad Road will be used as detour routes for buses traveling on Tughlaq Road that are headed toward the Central Secretariat and Connaught Place. Their travels will end in front of Vigyan Bhawan, and they’ll take Janpath back.
