The budget of this wedding is said to be ₹ 5,000 crores. Meanwhile, after a post, netizens reacted funny and joked that the expectations were around ₹ 1,000-2,000 crores, but the amount of ₹ 5,000 crores is ‘mind-blowing’. However, this amount is only 0.5 percent of Mukesh Ambani’s net worth.

One user commented, “I just read an article which said that if Ambani spends 3 crores…yes 3 crores…every day, his wealth will last for 962 years.” Another commented, “Giving us 3 crores will at least form the basis of generational wealth.”
Meanwhile, another user joked about starting a petition for a “1 crore donation scheme to the poor”.
One user commented that ₹5,000 crore, which is equivalent to $600 million, is a significant amount, enough to host 10 Oscar ceremonies in the US. He pointed out that the Jamnagar pre-wedding event was not a personal function of the Ambani family but an investment made by Reliance and other stakeholders, which means minimal personal spending. The user also said that a cruise party in Italy does not cost ₹1,000 crore, neither does 10 ceremonies at his house. So, a Rs 5,000 crore wedding was highly unlikely.

A report by Outlook suggested that while spending Rs 4,000-5,000 crore might seem like a lot, the Ambani family is spending a lesser percentage of their net worth than the average Indian family on their children’s wedding. An average Indian family spends about 5% to 15% of their net worth, while the Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant wedding was only 0.5% of the Ambani family’s net worth.
